Family Literacy Program
The Schools of Hope Family Literacy Program makes a difference in the lives of families by increasing the capacity of parents to support their children, a child's academic success, and the capacity of parents to compete more effectively in the workplace. This program is a partnership between Heart of West Michigan United Way and the Literacy Center of West Michigan.
Â
The program contains four components: education for the parent, education for the child, parent and child time together, and parenting dicusssion time.
Â
The Family Literacy Program serves 6 Grand Rapids Public Schools with plans to expand in the future. We currently provide programming to over 130 families.
