H1N1 Vaccine Partnership
Working in partnership with the Kent County Health Department, United Way’s 2-1-1 reports success in quickly filling the H1N1 vaccination clinics scheduled on November 7, 14 and 21. Kent County residents began contacting 2-1-1 early Tuesday, November 3rd immediately following the Kent County Health Departments news release on the upcoming vaccination clinics. Booking as many as 350 vaccination appointments hourly; 2-1-1 was provided the opportunity to successfully test their capacity and systems readiness for large scale information referral to the community. By Friday, November 6th the majority of appointments had been filled at both vaccination clinic locations with openings available on November 21st only.
“We’re proud to be a community partner with United Way’s 2-1-1 in this important initiative to provide the H1N1 influenza vaccine to the at risk population in Kent County,” reported Bill Anstey, Deputy Administrative Health Officer for the Kent County Health Department. “2-1-1’s role as a primary resource for community services and information made them the logical partner in this important initiative and we’re pleased the appointment process has been handled swiftly and efficiently.”
