New Business Challenge
Heart of West Michigan United Way is pleased to announce our New Business Challenge, created through a generous matching grant from the Steelcase Foundation. Any new United Way gift will be matched up to a total of $100,000 by the end of March 2012.
Â
Realizing that a weak economy places increased demands on health and human service providers, Heart of West Michigan United Way looks to generate additional campaign funds with the New Business Challenge. The challenge increases the number of new businesses who support United Way by running a workplace campaign or providing a corporate gift. Backed by United Way's Board and Campaign Cabinet, the New Business Challenge is supported by experienced leaders who are strongly committed to our community and to United Way.    Â

Help United Way Meet the Challenge
Â
Do you know of a business that would be interested in holding a workplace campaign, providing a corporate gift or a special event for the first time? Partnering with United Way is good for the community, and it's good for business too. It:
- Invests a company's corporate and employee resources right here in Kent County meeting local needs.
- Gives a company closer ties to the community in which they do business and creates opportunities for networking with other United Way workplace partners.
- Enhances the overall Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, an area that is becoming more important as consumers and potential employees seek out companies with a strong track record of helping make the community a better place.
Working together is how communities and companies grow strong. Partnering with United Way is the best way to do it. Don't wait - strengthen the greater Grand Rapids community and participate or refer a company to the New Busines Challenge.Â
