The “Fill the Cart” community-wide collection drive brings together much-needed items that will ease the burden on children, families, seniors, and veterans who are struggling to meet their basic needs.
On Day of Action, more than 1,000 volunteers will come together in service to assemble ready-to-prepare meals that will be distributed through Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank to food pantries across Kent County.

The Kent County Tax Credit Coalition kicks off its 2017 tax season with an awareness event this Friday morning at LINC. Light refreshments will be served. The Coalition helps working individuals and families achieve economic success with free income tax return preparation and assistance with filing tax credit claims, including the Earned Income Tax Credit.
County and city officials will declare January 19, 2017 “Live United Day” in celebration of Heart of West Michigan United Way’s 100 year anniversary. In the spirit of United Way, volunteers and staff will be performing Acts of Kindness throughout the day -- and we encourage you to join in too!

In conjunction with Heart of West Michigan United Way’s mission to reduce poverty, United Way Young Leaders Society exists to ignite the passions and recognize the talents of young professionals to advance sustainable solutions in West Michigan.
United Way's Schools of Hope Program pairs Volunteer Reading Tutors with students in grades 1-3 who are behind in reading to work one-on-one, once a week for 30 minutes. No experience necessary. We will train you to be a reading tutor!
