Every day, thousands of people find the help they need free of charge because of Information & Referral (I&R) services.
I&R brings people and services together and is an integral component of the health and human services sector. People in search of services often don’t know where to turn, or they get overwhelmed trying to find what they need. With I&R, the information is available with one simple phone call, text message, or on websites.
In 2011, the U.S. Senate designated November 16 as “National Information and Referral Services Day.”
Our own 211 staff does an amazing job of connecting callers to services in our community. Every day, they listen to the struggles that families in our community face. It's not easy work, but because of their experience and compassion, they are able to help tens of thousands of people each year.
