Day of Caring: Public Volunteer Opportunity

Equest Center

Day of Caring is the largest corporate volunteering day in West Michigan and has been sponsored by the Volunteer Center at Heart of West Michigan United Way for 20 years! This year, in addition to nearly 100 projects for corporate volunteers, we have a special 20th Anniversary public project for Day of Caring 2016!

100 volunteers will come together at The Equest Center in Rockford, a non profit organization that improves quality of life through equine-based therapy to physically, mentally and socially/emotionally challenged individuals. Their unique programs integrate academic, social and physical skills, using the horse as a catalyst.

Volunteers are needed to help clean pastures, do yard work, and keep up barn and grounds. With over 30 horses on the farm there is always something to do! Kids 10+ are welcome, but anyone under the age of 14 needs to be accompanied by a parent. Volunteers are encouraged to bring: work gloves & water, as well as any shovels, rakes, pitchforks, & wheelbarrows they have available

Two available shifts:

9:00AM - 12:00PM
1:30PM - 4:30PM
