Road trip! Join our Young Leaders Society for a 90-minute Community Impact Tour. We'll travel to Arbor Circle and Migrant Legal Aid to take an in-depth look at mental health counseling, youth homelessness, wrap-around services, migrant workers, employment, and equity programs in our community.
The needs of people in West Michigan are complex and they cannot be addressed by one person, one agency, or one community organization. United Way is able to connect thousands of donors and volunteers to local organizations that help address many needs. On Community Impact Tours, we take the time to talk about a few of these partners, but it is our goal that you'll walk away from this road trip with a better understanding how we are all connected and interdependent.
We'll board the bus at Vander Mill Grand Rapids at 3:20 pm and leave promptly by 3:30 pm, to travel to both agencies. The tour will end back at Vander Mill at 5:00 pm.
What do you need to bring? A mind ready to learn and absorb. What should you expect? To have it blown... Ok. Maybe not. But you will learn about community needs and solutions you may not have known existed.
This Community Impact Tour is free, but you must register.
Afterward, stick around Vander Mill to help us sort donations at this volunteer event.
