The burden of student loan debt impacts nearly 70% of college graduates. Please join Legal Aid of Western Michigan at Heart of West Michigan United Way for donuts, coffee, and a presentation that will provide an overview of private and federal student loans and options available to reduce the burden of student loan debt, including information about Public Service Loan Forgiveness and income-based repayment programs. This presentation will also address student loan default and collection issues.

This training will educate service providers on issues impacting their clients. Service providers include social service agency employees, social workers, DHHS workers, those who counsel and support survivors of domestic violence, even librarians. If you serve a population who could benefit from student loan information, this training is for you.
