FAMILY STABILITY PROGRAM
Preventing Evictions. Preserving Dignity. Protecting What Matters Most.
No one plans to fall behind on rent. But one lost job, one medical bill, one unexpected crisis — and suddenly a family is facing eviction.
That’s where the Family Stability Program comes in.
We work with families to stop eviction before it happens, offering more than financial help. We offer time. Breathing room. A way forward. Because when a family stays housed, everything else stays possible.

Our Family Stability work is designed to meet both immediate needs and long-term goals through a wraparound approach:
Emergency rental assistance to stop eviction proceedings
Case management and housing navigation to address the root causes of housing instability
Referrals to job supports, mental health care, and financial counseling
Follow-up support to ensure stability beyond a single payment
Right now, we partner with community-based agencies to deliver this specific program across Kent County but continue working in Allegan and Ottawa counties to address priorities in stabilizing housing and creating opportunity.
When Housing Falls Apart, Everything Does
Eviction isn’t just the loss of a home. It is the unraveling of stability:
Children changing schools mid-year
Families separated
Health conditions worsened by stress
Credit ruined for years to come
And for ALICE families already living on the edge, it often takes just one crisis to get there.

More Than a Safety Net —
A Springboard
This work is part of our broader commitment to Financial Security and Community Resiliency.
When families stay housed, they stay connected to school, work, healthcare, and community. That makes eviction prevention not just an emergency response, but a transformative solution.
